It’s the adoration of penis. Nope, you haven’t read wrongly. It is the glamorization of the male sexual organ, the penis.

And, if you haven't known, it’s happening throughout many places in Asia. In many countries, people regard the penis as a symbol of prosperity, power, peace, protection, and wisdom. In Bhutan, women who want to bear children would pray in monasteries whereby monks would give them fertility blessings by touching their heads with a long, wooden phallus(just a nicer word for penis).

This is happening even in Japan ! Phallus-shaped statues, toys and lollipops are all common at the festival.

Cool huh!
